A collaborative approach of the street count
Promoting community awareness about those sleeping rough

Neami Way2Home was recently part of the City of Sydney street count which recorded 394 people sleeping rough across the City’s local area.

Coinciding with Homeless Persons’ Week, the bi-annual street count also recorded 417 occupied state funded crisis beds. Hostel beds across the city were found to be at 93 per cent capacity.

Tamara Sequeira, Neami Way2Home Service Manager, has emphasised the importance of the collaborative approach of the street count, which included the help of 104 volunteers. "We hope that the results from the count will help promote community awareness about those sleeping rough."
