'WALK A MILE in my shoes' is an exhibition showcasing the work of our South Australian artists who live with a mental illness.  This exhibition gives artists the opportunity to draw on their strengths and values and to share this as an expression of art.  It also allows them the opportunity to set tangible goals, work towards these goals in a supported environment and to communicate their vision for the future.

The exhibition draws from weekly Neami art groups in three locations around South Australia- Port Adelaide, Murray Bridge and Elizabeth. These are informal sessions where artists are supported in pursuing their own interests within the scope of visual arts.  The groups are run by a local community artist alongside experienced mental health support workers.  These groups are a safe place to socialise, meet new people, set goals and be supported in their arts practice.

The exhibition runs from December 4th to December 19th at the Black diamond Gallery (66 Commercial Road, Port Adelaide).

Opening hours are 10am to 2pm Tuesday to Friday.

Participants will be sitting the exhibition during these hours which gives the public the opportunity to meet the artists.
