Position overview

As the Victorian NDIS Manager your job will be to develop and implement the Victorian Transition Project Plan ensuring a smooth transition for customers to the new organisation.   This means planning and overseeing all aspects of the transition including financial sustainability, workforce planning, information systems, quality control and feedback monitoring to name a few.  In addition to your broad project goals you will be constantly on the lookout for ways to innovate and improve systems and processes. You will be working with various stakeholders across the organisation from senior management to front line staff and developing innovative ways to achieve their desired outcomes.

Position Context

The introduction of the NDIS is a major sectoral change the likes not previously seen.  In Victoria this mean block funding is being phased out and NDIS’s new competitive market for disability services phased in.  In light of these changes Neami National (one of Australia’s most respected service providers in the mental health sector) has setup a new not-for-profit organisation (Me Well) to provide services under the new system.  As thousands of customers migrate from the old system to the new, Me Well will need to balance rapid scaling of the business whilst ensuring a high quality service is provided to all customers.  This is where you come in.  

What you will be doing?

You will be working with various stakeholders across the organisation from senior management to front line staff and developing innovative ways to achieve their desired outcomes.  This is a newly created position, Me Well is a newly created company and we are operating under a whole new government funding model. With this in mind your ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment and deal with ambiguity is going to be essential.  This will be a challenging role but one that comes with the opportunity to have a real impact on at the early stages of the organisations development.

What you will need to bring to the role?

To succeed in this role you will be combining your strategic business mind with your “get the job done” attitude.  You will be drawing on your considerable experience scoping requirements developing project plans and managing jobs through to completion.  You will have a keen eye for business improvement opportunities, take an innovative approach to solving problems and be prepared to roll up the sleeves when required.  Your strategic thinking means you can see the potential road blocks down the line and your innovative thinking will ensure we have a plan deal with them.  As you will be playing a key leadership role at the early stages of the organisations development your professionalism, leadership and ability to set an example for other members of the team will be vital.  You will be a highly skilled communicator both written and verbal and able to breakdown complex issues in a way that everyone can understand. Your ability to manage and win over stakeholders from top level management to front line staff will ensure this project achieves its desired outcomes. You will display strong Emotional Intelligence, be empathetic to stakeholders needs and develop plans that create win/win outcomes. Your commercial thinking and high level of business acumen will ensure you are always looking for new business opportunities and ways to improve. You will be technology savvy, be highly skilled in MS office suite as well as project management tools.
